It amazing how some Bama fans (most Auburn fans) do nothing but rip LSU fans insulting us calling us names and saying they are ones people should mimic Yet right after the game several of them showered the field with cups, Ice and one documented liquor bottle. If Alabama fans want to still think of their program as the class of the SEC, they ought to act with better class than that" So Bama fans, I have no beef with Bama, never have and never met a Bama fan I didnt like BUT, sometimes you call the kettle black a bit to much. Fact is ALL schools have their share of idiotic fans. Bama included. I have never been treated more poorly then when my wife and I attended an Auburn game at Auburn. I dont blame Auburn, the state of Alabama or their coaches. I blame a small group of people who exist at every university (mostly students) who take things always a bit to far. This happens at Alabama as well. And that part really brought shame to Alabama last night. So do us ALL a favor, enough with the "LSU fans are cattle raping drunks" garbage. Bama has just as many of those types of fans as LSU, UGA, UF you name it. Fact is as SEC fans we need to figure out a way to fix it.
You are correct, it's part of growing up and not the pretty part either. Young kids, and thats what they are, are very passionate when sober, but mix them with alcohol and many become both passionate and stupid. Young college kids are not going away and they are not going to learn how to drink and act responsibly over night, it's a fact of life an ugly one but a fact none the less.
It needs to be, I was never so ashamed when I heard what some LSU fans did to the UT bus. Its up to fans of the schools to clean up their own messes and stop pointing the finger at other fan bases. That is what happens, "Your fans are the worst, we are class" when in essence there is a problem across sports with this, even down to kid sports. WHen I was walking out of the Auburn game, there was some drunk kid just hounding some Auburn fans. After about 2 minutes I finally said enoughs enough and told the guy to shut the hell up and win with class. About 15 people around me started clapping. I am no hero, all it takes is for a few fans to say enough is enough and take care of their own base. Not trying to give a speech but enough is enough. Again I really like Bama, I have a great time with their fans and honestly I never have had a problem at Bama games, Auburn is a different story, been their twice and vowed never to return, (We had our car broken into, and our tent destroyed) but again its not the state, the team, the university or the coaches. That is the problem, no one sees the problem with their own fans and until they do it will never stop.
