I've been visiting the Bama boards and they are way down because of being swept by Auburn in Basketball. Not to mentioned being swept by Auburn in football for I think 5 years straight. I've never seen so much negative complaining ever. I thought we were bad at times, but they are ready to jump off a cliff. Just check the postings at www.al.com Tide Free For All in the sports section.

If Saban lays an egg next year they may be in a big meltdown.

There really isn't much of a difference in how some of the Alabama fan base is reacting to CMG and the basketball team and how LSU is reacting to Brady and the Tigers.

Those that follow the sport, and most importantly understand the sport, point to the health problems with Big Baby as one of the areas the team has had to struggle with. The same can be said with Steele, the PG with Bama. He's been playing, albeit with injury all year long.

FWIW, the worst place to get a feel for what informed fans feel about the program is from AL.com. "Free for all," is a great way to explain it. I find it amusing, simply because the ones you see being so vocal right now are only vocal when they have something to complain about.

Some say ignorance is bliss, others find it simply amusing. Those that find it credible need some serious introspection.

introspection [in-truh-spek-shuhn] –noun 1. observation or examination of one's own mental and emotional state, mental processes, etc.; the act of looking within oneself. (whew, I thought it might be an invasive medical procedure)

It's early and I haven't had my coffee yet. I think I forgot my opinion on this matter by the time I found the definition....:(

part 2 of hidden message: "and since it is THE site for all things gump, fork up the $$ to become a contributor"....btw terry, surely you can take a pittance like $25.00 or so to become a contributor on this site, i mean after all that works out to something like .02 per one of your posts (although most would say that's probably far more than they're worth). $satan didn't take all of your $$ did he? :)

I can give you a list of other forums, al.com is so sporadicly moderated that it's ridiculous. I haven't gone to al.com in a year.

Alot of those guys you will see there are pot stirrers, ( not necessarily Bama fans), fair weather fans, and occasional followers.

try out some of these if you want a feel for more dedicated fans.

http://forums.tidesports.com/groupee - it can get hostile there

    http://mb14.scout.com/falabamafans48326frm1 - everyday scout.com forum.

    http://www.crimsontusks.com/index.php - decent site

but if you really wanna see people eating their young you can visit

    http://arsportstalk.net/smf/index.php?board=27.0 - it's the arkansas board :yelwink2:

for what it's worth I'm not as fanatic about basketball as football, but I still follow it. I'll agree both of those Auburn losses hurt, but not because they were Auburn.

I haven't seen Terry posting since the coaching search was going on, I don't know how much he even visits anymore which is a shame.

FWIW, I've seen what transpires on AL.com since they day they opened their forums. It is a joke of a message forum. You'd be surprised at how many people post there that aren't Alabama fans. Heck, message forums you find on AOL, MSN, etc. have better content...and THAT is a statement if you take it in context.

Thanks for all the links. I spend my most of my time reading national/international online city newspapers through www.newslink.org
I sometimes venture into forums associated with each online news site. And of course some national blogs depending on what sports season we are in. I can tell you this, I'm not as knowlegable as most of you guys are. But I do enjoy listening to what other folks are saying about their own teams. I thoroughly enjoy TigerForums and the large number of responsible members here. I tend to post topics often since I enjoy listening and learning what other Tigers have to share. I just became a contributor due to how often I now visit. I also encourage anyone who visits often to do the same. Bills have to be paid and the donation is small compared to the enjoyment one may be receiving from daily visits.

As far as other team posters like those from Bama, USC, etc., I enjoy their team loyalty spin on our topics. It's always intriguing how some folks like to hang around a site to see what we are saying about their team.

Thanks again for all the links! :thumb:
