    According to the Sporting News:

I contacted a business colleague that is close to the Heels program and he stated they're pretty confident that Edwards will be the starter for at least the first 3 games on their schedule because of his relative experience. UNC has the unfortunate displeasure of opening their schedule against Georgia Tech, Wisconsin, and NC State, all three of which are expected to be televised.

His absence will mean the Heels must start either LSU transfer Barrington Edwards or one of two true freshmen: James Arnold or Richie Rich. . . .

    Richie Rich?

Who's their QB? Casper the Friendly Ghost? :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

good for him, I remember when we got him to commit to LSU I thought he was going to be our starter for a few years....

playing third fiddle to jv and ab sucks but I mean... someone has to be third

He came at a bad time for him when LSU had a log jam of very talented backs and he let it affect his attitude. He is very talented and I wish him well at UNC. If he does end up being the starter at UNC that tells you a lot about how stacked LSU was/is at RB, he was listed behind Broussard, Vincent, Addai and Carey which makes him 5th string at best, not sure if he was listed ahead of Spadoni or not.

I remember playing NCAA Football 2003 (I think) when Barrington was a frosh. and my starting RB. He was the Heisman trophy winner that season. =) Go Heels!

Wow, the only word that describes the wealth of talent LSU's hauled in at RB the past few years is "filthy".

Good for him, though. If he wanted playing time, transferring was the right thing for BE to do.

Sucks he'll win about 3 games this year, but playing time *is* playing time!

Good for him. I hate that his opportunity comes at the misfortune of the other guy, but I'm happy for Edwards. He came here...he gave it a shot. We can't hold it against him for wanting to go somewhere and have an opportunity to play.

It's almost hard to fathom, but we still currently have 4 RB's that have all been the starter at one time or another, and have all performed. If I were stuck on the depth chart behind all 4 of those guys, I would've left too. I hope he does well.
