Surprisingly (at least to me anyways), LSU doesn't have a single pre-season All-American... But Florida has a good bit and shockingly North Carolina landed a few as well...

I didn't expect any 1st teamers from LSU, but I thought perhaps a 2nd or 3rd teamer was possible...

The well's run dry, man. I'm not expecting big things this year. I hope I'm wrong, and if I am, then come June, I'll be happy to eat these words. But with that cigar-store Indian we have in the dugout, I don't think there's any danger I'll have to.

I don't know why, but that comment made me laugh so hard, I almost blew my soda out of my nose!

    :hihi:

...but I think you're right about this season. This season, we look to be the team that is over-matched--not the other way around like it has been for better part of the last 15 years.

5 years ago, I was like: "HAHAHAHA! Get ready South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, MSU, etc., 'here we come!'" ...and now it's, "Oh, crap, here comes Tennessee, Florida, etc...."

...also, with the team as young as it is, and without 2 of our top pitchers from a year ago, I'm not expecting a whole lot....THIS YEAR. But I do expect us to remain competitive and, at the least, get into the post-season and win a few there.

Last year was DEFINATELY a disappointment in terms of where we finished...but this year, sometimes you just have to look at what you've got and be realistic (but support the team nonetheless!--that's the way to do OUR part in helping build this program back to National title contension again)...

My cup's half full. I'm looking for a successful season from Smoke and the boys.

I think we can get to the postseason with 30-35 wins based on our name alone. 33-35 wins probably gets us a host spot in a sub-regional based solely on the money involved. I just don't expect much other than that. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong and that I end up pleasantly surprised. I'm just not counting on it.

We have so much unproven talent on this team. Hopefully they show up big time and we get back to Omaha.

Having Jackson out for the season certainly doesn't help anything.:(
