1. Picked up the sports page today to see some things, as they may affect the overall college hoops world of our Tigers' men team:

Let's just note that West Virginia, one of the Tigers' early season "upsets", helped their cause after losing to the Longhorns and the Tigers by thrashing #7 ranked Oklahoma, 92-68. WVU now stands at 7-3 beefing up their case for the tourney and doing the same for the Tigers.

On the "weak" SEC, the surprising teams? Florida, stands at #5, with a 11-0 and their best start of the season. They'll pose a much tougher challenge to the Tigers this year as they boast some real inside muscle. No 23, Tennessee, fresh off their trouncing of the 'Horns, lose to Oklahoma State, but show that the "lower tier" of the SEC starts to get respect. Arkansas handles Bobby Knight and Texas Tech earlier in the week. The flip side is that Auburn, South Carolina, and Alabama lose to Texas A&M, Temple, and NC State (not too surprising. Auburn beats Temple by 31 in an earlier game).
