rich rodriguez wanted the LSU job badly and still does.

bobby petrino wanted the job badly but reportedly fell on his face during the interview then signed an insane contract to stay.

Rodriguez is the innovator/creator of the spread offense which led Tulane to a 12-0 season with shaun king having the highest qb rating ever for an entire season--2 things which will never happen again. they lead the country in rushing once again at 319 yards a game which is pretty incredible while Louisville has the leading rush defense in the big least (simply because their pass defense sucks so no one runs). Pat white (qb) and steve slaton (rb) are lethal once they get rolling and pretty fun to watch if you like this type of football. Brohm is back for the cards but i think the loss of bush early on will cost them here though Louisville has won their last 15 at home.

WVA is the better team so I think they will break the Cards streak.

nothing like a midseason bowl game on thursday night with the super bowl this sunday night between the pats and colts.

Did Rodriguez even get an interview? I know there are some hardliners out there that would not tolerate anyone remotely connected with Tulane, but I think Rodriguez has much more upside than Miles.

I think this is a battle of the overrated.

i think the cards win, they play extremely well at home and i'm not jumpin on the WVU bandwagon. WVU hasnt played anyone this year with the athletes to stop them. Louisville won't stuff them, but i think they have a better, more balanced offense.
And Manning didn't choke in the cold last in denver last week did he? That last postseason loss @ NE was not all his fault, no running game and dropped passes did them in.

no he didnt but i didnt want to turn this into an anti-miles thread. And to be honest, rich had no hc experience and wasnt qualified to get a serious look at that time. then again, when nick deserted us, we weren't in position to be picky. rodriguez has even expressed interest in the UNC job recently.

meyer runs the spread option which is a different animal. it gets your qb killed unless his name is tebow who is a derivative of ronnie lott and bo jackson it seems. dude is still running over linebackers when they know hes going to run. Its pretty amazing. Will be interesting to see once hes the starter if he lasts.

And to be fair with peyton, the only time he had the better team against the pats was last year. So I suppose he's choked 1 away thus far but will have time to win it all. He's only 30. I knew edgerrin pissed away his career when signing with the terrible zona o-line. I think it keeps him out of the hall of fame which he would have made if he stayed. joe addai thanks him greatly.

It seems a little crazy to run this spread option thing in the defense dominant SEC. It may take a while, but Tebow is going to end up battered and standing on the sidelines leaning on crutches.

I'm still a skeptic with regard to these spread schemes in the SEC. I think it is more likely an effective now and then tool. SEC defenses are big and super fast. It'll be interesting to see if Meyer can make it truly work long term with Tebow...before he gets an a career ending injury. For his sake, I hope not.

The most effective part of Meyers offense is his defense. If they were getting blown out then fakes wouldnt work. Bama put it on them in the 1st quarter last year so the offense was non existent.
