smallish in stature, but is irritating as phuck to a defense

kid is something else as a pure freshman, doesn't look like a freshman though

    extremely confident kid

Looking back the last time we signed a good couple WR's in the same class. I'd say Bowe and Buster Davis. But to have these two play this early and do so well.

Beckham has exhibited great hands and I wouldn't dare diminish his time when Shepard comes back. The only thing that he doesn't seem to excel at is the run after the catch. Conversely, Shepard has never impressed me as having great hands, but can go the distance if he gets in open space. All things considered I'll take the great hands and the ability to move the chains. Perhaps Shepard gets time at the expense of some of the other WR's, obviously not Randle though.

He looks great so far. He's the ultimate slot receiver at LSU. He has Early Doucet's route running precision and ability to find weak spots in coverage, while also having Skyler Green's speed and elusiveness.

Once Shepard comes back we are going to be loaded in the passing game.

That might be because most of his routes go across the field. He juked quite a few MSU defenders tonight.

Kid has been amazing so far. And he's really opening things up for Randle. These two are serious trouble for the other guys.

I'll watch the replay and see, but I don't remember him juking anyone. On the bubble screens I remember he pretty much went straight ahead and went down upon contact. On another, Lee led him straight into his own blocker and he ran up his back and was tackled for no gain. He didn't seem all that elusive or a threat to break tackles and go the distance from what I remember. Again, I think he has perhaps the best hands on the team and is an outstanding freshman receiver, but I would think we would have better options to use on reverses for example for pure running ability at the WR position.

Did someone say he has a 4.3 speed? He has amazing hands, reminded me of Josh Reed.

He definitely juked some guys. It was nice. But the part I liked best was the diving catch on the ball thrown behind him. Caught it perfectly with his hands so the ref could see he made the catch. Refreshing with all the drops we have had this year and last.
