How does the contract differ for an undrafted free agent as compared to a free agent (If there is a difference) and also... Does anyone know who is agent is?

They just negotiate as a free agent, that is usually better than being drafted in the last round. They don't have to worry about all of the slotting either. If they have a few teams very interested in themn they can get a good deal.

Plus, as an undrafted free agent, you usually get a signing bonus. Nothing monstrous, but it will help moving to a new city, new place, furniture, etc. I believe late draft picks don't get one.

Good for Ben...Thanks for the info...I think he will show up to play healthy (100%) very early in the season and be one hell of a steal.

The late round draft picks get signing bonuses too. The money is about the same but the main advantage of being a free agent signee versus a 7th rounder is that you get to pick the team that best suits you and gives you the best chance to make the team. So instead of being drafted and being stuck with that team, you have the option to choose.

i think its funny how its portrayed the 7th rounders are late round picks and basically just a wasted pick which you take a chance on.

years ago i think there were 17 rounds and the 7th pick was golden.

so much more talent left undrafted now its amazing.
