1. I don't read Time or have a subscription to any magazine but your post made me think of something. The magazine aisle tells us a lot about our society and much of it's scary. You realize how shallow many people are and how many people are just sheep.

Oprah...when it comes to looks she's not even close to being average, much less attractive, puts her photo on every cover of her magazine yet people still buy it.

There are numerous magazine titles based on race, color, or ethnicity which are acceptable yet if people from another race, color, or ethnicity named a magazine in similar fashion, the "politically correct" police would be rioting. :nope:

There are tons of magazines with photos and stories about celebrities. It's amazing how people are more interested in Hollywood than in their own life.

Take a look at magazines targeting women. Less than 10% is actual substance and 90%+ is advertising. So you're paying for a magazine to read advertisements. Shouldn't the companies pay you to read it? ;)

If we truly want to save the enviornment maybe we should stop wasting trees for this garbage. :thumb:
  2. I agree man
    Bill Hicks on marketing......

  3. As I understand it, the TIME award is about biggest impact, not necessarily good or bad. And I think a valid argument can be made about the impact of Bernanke on Americans, and even people world-wide.
  4. I see your point, but usually it is given to someone for their actions. I am guessing Bernanke got it for is in-actions? His inability to do anything is one of the reasons why we are as deep as we are.
  5. LOL, I think he acted plenty! He even made a LOT of $ for some people. Just probably not anyone we know!
  6. jeez, people, you are too touchy about the media liberal thing.

others chosen as time person of the year include--kruschev, stalin (2x), khomeni and hitler.
  7. stalin did a lot. 20+ million people. That is a lot of work for such a short time.
