Best 2007 New SEC Football Rivalries???

There are many rivalries within the SEC. With all the coaching changes, divisional play, etc what new big rivalries exist for 2007? Do you think the new rivalries with last? Rank your choices and why?

The obvious two that stand out are LSU/Bama and Florida/South Carolina.

LSU/Bama: From Alabama's point of view LSU has never been a main rival for Bama. I think that changes when LSU beats them again this year and the following game in BR. Of course it will never replace the Iron Bowl for Bama but could replace the Georgia game as a bigger rival. Bama is just an LSU wannabe now.

Florida/South Carolina: This all depends on Spurrier. With the talent he's getting I believe this to be a new SEC East power rivalry game in the early stages. I'm sure Gator fans feel similar to LSU fans going against a previous coach. However, Spurrier was much more professional in how he handled his changing jobs. And he did not bail on the Skins the way Saban did.

Auburn/LSU: This has developed into a great new rival game in the SEC. It will only get more intense as each year goes by. He team has held serve for several years running now.

Is there a more intense competitive conference in all of college football right now? I don't think so. There are so many big name coaches and top twenty teams from the SEC now.

I hate them all. Every game is big for us. I like it that way.

I think these are just big games. Rivalries are something else altogether and involve many decades of tight competition like Bama/Auburn or Florida/Florida State. LSU's traditional rivals, Ole Miss and Tulane, just aren't playing competitive ball right now, so we have some hot series going on with Auburn and Alabama.

I agree and would call the Auburn, Bama, and Florida type games grudge games. Neither fan bases can stomach a loss much less one of these games-especially Au and Fla. lately with Bama most likely to be an up and coming force in the near future.

Call me crazy but I look for South Carolina to be in the mix this season. They had some close games this past year. Look at four of their loses:

    1. Auburn 17-24
    2. Tennessee 24-31
    3. Florida 16-17
    4. Arkansas 20-26

Sydney Rice is gone but Kenny McKinley is said to have had a "Solid spring practice"- not that he's a "Sydney Rice" but with Spurrier, I have to believe he'll be solid. They also have four newcomers and redshirt freshman, Kenrick Ellis, who are supposedly a "Major talent up-grade on the defensive line".

I like the Auburn/LSU rivalry heating up b/c we trade wins every year recently. It's a fun rivalry and, in my opinion, the Auburn fans are pretty cool.

Personally, I can't stand Alabama and most of their fans. I love kicking the crap out of them for what will be the 5th year in a row (FEAR THE THUMB!:thumb: ). I think we've won 6 out of the last 7 games, too. This rivalry is pretty heated in my day to day life b/c there are a ton of Bama fans on the Ms Gulf Coast (where I live) and in Mobile, Al (Where I work). They are all delusional and cocky. Bama fans are horrible. Let's go kick the sh*t out of them on November 3rd!

I've always heard the "Between the hedges" game from my Bama friends as a big rivalry game. That's all I know, or maybe that's Auburn, I dunno.
