Just to keep from derailing the Grammy thread. Were talking bands here, not individuals. We'll save Clapton and Elvis for another thread. I go with:

    BRITISH
    1. Beatles
    2. Stones
    3. Zeppelin
    4. Who
    5. Pink Floyd ... or Yes ... or Kinks ... or Yardbirds

    AMERICAN
    1. Doors
    2. Grateful Dead
    3. Beach Boys
    4. Talking Heads
    5. Aerosmith ... or The Band ... or Steely Dan ... or REM

  2. Carface

I am not a huge Guns N Roses fan...They made some good stuff, but nothing like the genius of Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, or The Who...

It's all a matter of preference, IMO. I liked Aerosmith for a number of years, but never really thought they did anything that was ground breaking like the rest of the bands mentioned. And yea, I'm including GNR there!

I've tried to get the Dead so many times, but to no avail (with the exception of maybe 1/2 of an album.) To each his own though...
