Every Tiger Fan that went last time said to stay in the Marriott which was an easy walk to the stadium. Well, that Marriott is already sold out, so I was wondering where the next best place to be was.

I didn't attend last time, but I'm sure there are enough people on here to provide some top notch info.

    1. Is there any other hotel really close to the stadium?

    2. What hotels are close to the strip of bars?

    Any info would be appreciated!!

I always stay at a place called the Blackberry Farm (the road past Maryville) in the Smokies south of town. The Smokies are a great location and a great place to party. Be smart, and keep out of town and away from those ignorant, arrogant Tennessee hicks. If you're gonna eat in town ... eat at the Butcher Shop Steak House ... a good steak and fixins ... cuz all the rest of the food sux there, IMO!

In town ... if you gotta ... try Holiday Inn Select if the Marriott is full.

And if you got time ... make the Pigsah Mountains and see Asheville, NC ... God's country!

Blackberry Farms is nice...Spa / Resort nice. You should consider a stay at the Cumberland House owned by Peyton Manning among others. CH is close to the Stadium and on the Cumberland Strip. Probably just what you're looking for.

Also, Tammy Dawn, the General Manager of Calhoun's on the River, is a huge Tiger fan and always has her place ready for Tiger Fan. Calhoun's is the perfect place for Tiger Fan pre and post game and it is right across Neyland Drive just past the Vol Navy (Quite a sight).

The absolute best thing to do is to rent you a chalet in Gatlinburg for a weekend. These chalets are like mini-apartments. Most have hot tubs on the back deck, pool table, fireplace, fully stocked kitchen, 2 bedrooms each with its own bathroom, 3 TV's, dvd players, everything that you could possibly want to party in the smokey mountains in style! Every football weekend in Knoxville, Gatlinburg is packed plum full with football fans.

You can google for gatlinburg chalets and find you a ton of different options. This is one link that you can check out if you wish, but compare it with others if you want.

    Hope this helps. :thumb:

We were thinking about making that game next year as well, but rumor is that Vols campus security is famous for running off visiting teams tailgate.
