:tigerhead Our logo will always be the mike on the side of the helmet. when people see that tiger, they think LSU !
It has promise. The look is nice but the design is very "spikey", especially up close. But if you back off 8 or 10 feet from the monitor, it looks much better. A logo has to look good from a distance as well as up close. This could be tweaked into a nice logo.
I have never understood why LSU feels the need to tweak its logo and lettering every few years. The LSU fonts used by the Athl. Dept. are just weak, IMO. The latest already-dated-but-trying-to-be-trendy attempts at graphic design have no place in an older school with significant lineage. The best logo is the one still on the helmet (by some miracle that wasn't changed), and the better fonts for "L.S.U." are in more traditional styles. No shadowing or stylized serifs that any bored student in class who idles away time doodling couldn't better. I know they are doing everything they can to push merchandise, but stop screwing up our image. Good schools don't go to such pains to reinvent themselves every 4 years.
it is better than toonces. i 'll give ya that.:thumb: i actually like the "geaux" font, but i cannot stand toonces.
I like toonces when his body is suspiciously missing. When he's leaping over stuff, I could do without him. Of course, nothing is better than the sailor hat, followed by the helmet, but this is a nice Bengals-esqe tweak without being TOO much like that NFL team that has one of vball's faves on it.
