Exactly. Besides, the Vatican needs all the money available to pay off the recent priest/sex abuse judgement. :hihi:
In Delany's comments he talks about adding a "big TV market" and the addition of "another state". .... that would make one think he has either Syracuse or Rutgers in mind. It would also rule out Pitt, for example.... As a small reminder, in the few years prior to Penn State getting voted in, the Lions started scheduling some Big Ten foes... over the past few years Syracuse has started to do the same... playing both Iowa and Illinois this year as part of home and away series and recently finishing a series with Purdue... Penn State has complained about not having another east coast team, and although Syracuse is not the "state school", most New Yorkers think of it that way. Rutgers is the state university of New Jersey, which would make them attractive... and they also have a good following in the Philly/NY market. my two cents....
I had a feeling this thread may flush you out. :hihi: It was amazing how much the "Big TV market" factor is driving this huh? I know it's all about money but they just put it out there.
Congrats. Your a couple of decades late. But I like the effort. Too bad Louisville just moved, they would have been a good acquisition.
pitt was the first school i thought of so thanks for that info. i think it would be neat to see the 'cuse in the big 10 although they're a big east staple whereas rutgers could move and it wouldn't raise too many eyebrows. the pac 10 should just add byu and utah and get it over with.
