There are some who would have you look at the dates on the articles which rehashed the sociology issue at Auburn. Seems they were ready to be ran a few days before published. Anyone who discounts Saban's ability to recruit at Alabama, using the Auburn will split the talent analogy, should remember Michigan State. He was in a state with little skilled talent and all of it went to Michigan if they wanted the recruit. Once Michigan state was off probation he became very competitive. In fact his last team at Michigan State spanked one of Steve Spurrier's better Florida teams. Living in Tennessee I well remember the hatred he generated when he out recruited Phil Fullmer for one of Florida's top running backs named Irvin. Plexico Burroughs is another that he went out of state and signed. He will probably impact the recruiting in Mississippi. Alabama has a history of signing good players from Mississippi. To beat Alabama somone will have to outwork and out coach him. No easy task.
