There was nothing posted on Louisville's official website or on the official athletic and football websites about a press conference.
Petrino has jumped to the top of my list. This guy has gone 19-5 over two season with a 10-1 record this season with that only loss at Miami in a close one. His team averages 50 points a game. He would give LSU football a whole new look and the possibilities are exciting. Petrino, Meyer, and Spurrier in the same conference. Talk about offense.
I believe that Louisville finished in the top 20 in defense, plus he could possibly retain Muschamp. EDIT: According to Foxsports.com Louisville finished 20th in scoring Defense.
Correct ... 18th in total defense and 20th in scoring defense. Obviously, the competition isn't the same, but the talent isn't the same that it would be at LSU either.
I am very excited about this guy. The Cardinals lead the nation in scoring with 50.3 points per game, and have scored at least 55 points in each of their past five games. One of the things that always had me scratching my head was all this talk of LSU team speed and talent, yet our offense sputtered a lot. I am excited to see what Petrino will be able to do with the best talent in college football. Ryan P, do you want to play for a guy whose team puts up 50 ppg and made Stephon Lefors into an NFL prospect?
No offense islstl, but did you even research it before making a comment about playing no defense? I posted this on another thread...... To me it looks like they've played some good defense and on the other hand Saban's team didn't play too stellar on defense and that's with guys like Spears, Webster..........
