http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20051206/news_1s6nextcoac1.html Auburn offensive coordinator Al Borges yesterday said, "I'd like to find out more about (SDSU), certainly." Borges, a disciple and teacher of the West Coast offense, was the main brain behind UCLA's offensive surge when the Bruins won two Pac-10 championships and averaged close to 40 points per game in 1997 and 1998. Since his hiring at Auburn, the Tigers are 22-2. Of course the article shows that many are interested in the SDSU job. But as long as we are talking about OC's and HC's who need OC's, HC's who might be fired and HC's who might like Coors Lite, who might go and who might stay, is there really a 3:00 PM arkansas team meeting followed by a 5:00 Press conf., In the words of The Clash: Should I stay or should I go now? Should I stay or should I go now? If I go there will be trouble An' if I stay it will be double So come on and let me know
3:00 meeting and 5:00 press conference is correct. I believe Nutt is gone. I hear that there is more news coming out of AU this evening. Know anything about that?
Really, isn't this always what makes the down time before the bowl games worth living through? I'm just glad I'm not having to lose any sleep over a possible coaching departure this time around [insert 'leave, Miles' joke here], and can just sit back and watch the fireworks!
If he is gone, all I can say is thanks for a couple of great years. It would hurt, and kill our recruiting, but the man never gave less than his best, and that was very good. I think about SDSU because it is close to "Home" for him, but what if he was going to arkansas? He is a know entity in conference, I could see it happening in a heartbeat. The Nutt thing is twisting too fast for something not to be on the table.
If Borges leaves I hope he goes somewhere far away; far, far, away. I do not want him doing to us what he did to others.
