"The first normal week, and that's more rest," receiver Dwayne Bowe said. "Rest (Sunday), watch film Monday and start off normal. Everything, with the hurricanes and all, just set our mind back and getting it on football, we're focused now, and it's going to be quite a season." Comments?
But, but....wait. I thought someone on here had "inside" info with the team and said that they were in meltdown mode???? I guess you can't always believe what you hear?
Well, these guys have always been upbeat to the press - it's what they are supposed to do. You can't take to much from these public statements. However, I do believe that the strong performance and good coaching against MSU has not only built this team's confidence in themselves, but in the coaching staff.
Oh I agree. I was just making fun of all those people who came on here saying that they know "half the team" and that the team was in shambles...
Confidence is huge. Who cares if we have to gain it vs MSU? You must do whatever it takes to get the team clicking on both sides of the ball. Maybe we just needed a weaker opponent to get into that rhythm. Every other top-25 team in American had a chance to do that besides us. If we play this thing right, we may just be at an advantage come the tougher games. We've already got the experience versus good teams. Now if we can just tune-up a bit, we can hit the meat of the schedule in stride.
A lot of people discounted the fact the hurricanes disrupted the team's progress... but now it seems evident, at least to me, that maybe the hurricanes did make a difference in how this team was able to stay focused. In the first game we saw a team that just wanted to play after katrina... in the second we had a layoff and then a postponed game.. the team wasn't in it... under normal circumstances we'd be 3-0 and in the top 3 in the country regardless of how our coaching has been. I really think this team will be ready to play here on out... I think one more loss is inevitable, but we still may be able to win the west, and the SEC. :geauxtige LSU! LSU! :champs:
I've said it before, and I'll say it again (pardon the cliche'): "Winning cures all" When you start winning games, confidence builds, players are happy, fans are happy and coaches are happy and are perceived as doing their jobs. It's a lovely circle.
