Just so the hoops fans can start to soak it ALL in, we have to be excited about our one quality non-conference win against WVU. They continue to surprise (or perhaps they were just expected to do this) with a on the road beating of the third ranked Villanova wildcats...

Katz again, deserving of some Tigers fans' love:

"Losing to LSU at home -- West Virginia's third loss in a row -- wasn't as explainable, although after seeing the Tigers Saturday in Hartford, it's easy to see how the Mountaineers could get beat. Since then, the Mountaineers have reeled off eight straight wins, including a 92-68 shredding of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City."

Making our scheduling and close performances that much better...

    Keep hope alive! :geauxtige

I don't think there's a doubt the RPI will be decent to very good come season's end, but that doesn't mean squat if LSU doesn't at least hit the 17 or 18 win mark.

Odds are they will, since they'll have 19 tries (18 conference games, 1 tourney game) at a minimum to get 9 wins.

Time to start hanging some skins on the wall if they want to make any kind of noise come March.

Agreed. I actually think they need to hit more than 18 wins to be safe. The way I look at it, it will come down to their losses. If they lose 10 or maybe 11 (and they're not embarassing losses and we "own" our home), they have a good shot given they'll have near the highest strength of schedule in the SEC and the country. They need to also be at the top or at worst top 2 in the SEC West, IMO.

I think too, this is where the fan support needs to be there, since winning at home is seen as a must, winning on the road, a bonus. First opportunity is the home game this weekend against a surprising Tenn team coached by a new coach in Pearl, that spanked Texas by 20+ at Texas...

The fans CAN make a difference this season...:geauxtige :bball:
