1. I really do not know where he came from. Chavis was suppose to bring his own man in as the DL coach.
Hopefully, all this nonsense with Orgeron and Haley is not swaying Chavis's loyalty.
  2. The 500k\year should keep him loyal enough.

  3. Not if they were going to pay Orgeron more.
  4. Appearently he is at least hanging out with the staff.

  5. If that had pissed him off he'd be gone by now.
  6. It came from sources at LSU and the Bears that he was headed to LSU.

Also it was hinted at the other day that Chavis was not bringing his DL coach.

Remember Chavis wasn't confirmed until yesterday but we all knew where he was signed before then.
  7. It's confirmed but not confirmed.

    Something like that.
  8. Based on my Wife's uncle, Brooks was looking at another job. I do believe Les told Chavis he could bring a coach or 2 but at least one of those guys, Brooks, may be in for a better pay check. I have no idea who the other would be, if there is even another one possible at this point.
  9. I think this is just a lot of speculation! I think we should keep Lane, we have had the best DL recruits overall in the country for the last couple of years.

Meanwhile, Haley, a former Mississippi State defensive line coach who has been with the Bears for two seasons, was spotted by reporters in the hallway near Miles' office shortly before Miles met with reporters.
Miles was asked, "What was Brick Haley doing here?"
Miles said, "Visiting friends," but none of LSU's current coaches were at any of Haley's last three coaching stops — the Bears in 2007 and 2008, Mississippi State from 2004-06 and Georgia Tech from 2002-03.
"I was there today to interview for a coaching job," Haley said Monday night in an interview on his cellular phone. "But coach Miles will be making whatever announcements that he needs to make."
LSU has a defensive line coach in Earl Lane, who is expected to either share some defensive line or other defensive duties or get another job. Several colleges have dual line coaches.
"Coach Lane is still on staff," Miles said.
  10. Ah yes, the ubiquitous unconfirmed confirmation.:D
