Very interesting.

I have always thought that the font of the "LSU" on the current helmet is rather strange. I often think that a more conventional font would be better, but perhaps the current font shows up best on television.

Also check out www.helmethut.com. It is a fascinating site of a fellow who both collects and reproduces vintage football helmets. He's got some real treasures in his collection and also reproduces some very cool helmets. Go to the site and then click on "college" and then on "LSU." He's got repros of LSU helmets of the 60s and 70s. There is a great section on Billy Cannon with photos of all of his original helmets from college and pro football. Also there is a section on Y.A. Tittle, Bert Jones and Nick Saban. Good site for helmet buffs.

 

what am I missing here? I was expecting to see old LSU helmets, but all I get are 2004 College Football Preview Logos. help me out here.
