nah . . well, at least I hope not . .I think this is going to be a FANTASTIC game . . no reason for it to get ugly
I have no intention of dishing out anything I may have to eat later...but...ZERO yards rushing for SC should give Auburn pause. Their strength vs. our strength. Let's get it ON!
Auburn will try to build on what they did today by evaluating what LSU did to stop USC's running attack. You have to admit that 15 carries for 150 yards and 6 TDs is unbelievable. LSU holding USC for net 0 yards rushing, and a grand total of 25 positive yards (excluding sacks), was pretty impressive too. I think it will be another classic SEC matchup, and probably the game of the week, regardless of where ESPN chooses to broadcast from.
It wasn't like it was against a weak team either. Bring on Auburn, I really think the Caddilac will get grounded. Actually, if we can't quite "ground" him, as long as we make them pass the ball we'll win. In my opinion Jason Campbell is an average QB at best. If they can't run they don't have a chance. " Time to Protect the Homeland, Play with a chip on the old shoulder" Remember Auburn game last year, it's payback time!!!
I hope that we do win and before we down play the QB of AU, I want to remind my Tiger family, that he is 1-0 against us. Lets not forget "CL" last week. We helped him look great. AU has a much better "D" than we faced tonight.
Actually, Campbell also started the LSU game in 2001 - so he is 1-1, not 1-0. That being said, you will have a hard time convinceing me that Mauck is a better qb than Campbell. I'm not saying JC is better than Mauck either - I think they are they pretty close. JC is not going to throw a ton of pics, and only if he does, it b/c they were deflected or he was hit while throwing. Mauck throws more unforced pics, but has more leadership on the field. As far as accuracy and arm strength, I think they are even. Its going to be fun watching our offensive strenght vs. your defensive strength. I think you are kidding yourselves if you think you will shut down our running game (I'll call than less than 175 total yards rushing) - but I don't think we'll go off for 300 rushing yards either. The keys to the game: 1) Will LSU pass effectively on Auburn (because I really don't think you will be able to run much - did you know Auburn averages giving up 112 yards per game rushing since the Arkansas game last year - and I took out games vs. ULM and WKU)? 2) Can Auburn effectively (200+ yds) run on Auburn? 3) Can Auburn pass against LSU(200+) 4) Turn overs . . Any combination of these 3 things will get the positive team the win . .what do you guys think. Also, I know it has no bearing on the game, but CTT is 5-2 in the last 2 years against top 10 teams . .so automatically assuming that Saban will outcoach CTT will be a silly prediction (as would saying the other way around).
Well the Auburn fans seem pretty cocky that they can run all over us and we cant run on them. You can use stats to prove that we cant run on you, but hey LSU hasnt allowed a 100 yard rusher this season. So I dont think Auburn will have a chance running on us, and Broussard and Vincent are gonna put the numbers up. I hope the players come into the game as cocky as you, they wont be feelin that way after the game.
C'mon, Auburn will certainly "have a chance" to run on us. They are very good at running the football. It will come down to sustaining drives and capitalizing on opportunities. Period.
