Unfortunately, the pursuit of political office requires campaigns. Campaings cost money. Big business lobbies see the opportunity to control the decisions that politicians make by donating to campaigns. There's no big coincidence in the fact that independently wealthy politicians don't usually make it to the top.
The line between news and news/parody has been blurred ever since one of the Presidential candidates (was it Edwards?) chose to announce his candidacy on Jon Stewart's show.
Elections alone will never fix America. However, Justice Fellowships, Sui Juris actions and informed grand juries could do it. tgsam
