thought this was interesting: and this is coming from economists who don't really think legalization of pot is the greatest thing in the world, just a beneficial economic resolution. I had a pretty long (5 pages) debate with a couple dudes I play video games with on their forums about this a while back. I don't think I have the energy to do it again. Long story short, just because it would save/make a ton of money doesn't mean it should be legal.
However, I do realize that its a huge difference. Just trying to be a part of the solution... lol. I don't think it would matter either way, I just don't see it happening. I think it would make alot of people look "soft" on drugs if it was legalized. But I don't do the stuff so I don't care. I say legalize meth :hihi:
you would be surprised, here's a question for you, how come each year more and more people get arrested for pot. wouldn't that lead you to believe your b.s. drug policy is not working. we are locking up non criminals, sure they are breaking federal law, but this law is outdated, and just flat out wrong. Am i saying marijuana should be put on the shelf at walmart, (that would be pretty cool, but being that no pot is grown in china, don't think that would work) no im not saying that, i don't advocate children using it, i dont advocate over use of it, what i do advocate, is using it as medicine, and for recreational use by responsible adults. Cancer patients are being put in jail for growing pot. Feds are raiding farms, and shooting their dogs, treating these guys like murderers. Everything you heard from Reefer Madness, to Harry J Anslinger's take on marijuana is just plain wrong, and lies. Smoking Pot everyday is less harmful than eating mcdonalds everyday. America could make money off of it, prisons would be less crowded, there would be less violence, cops and drug task forces could focus on real drugs that are a danger like meth and heroin, and if it were legal, i would venture to say that less people would try it in the first place. Legalize the Herb
I don't know if it should be legal or not but what I do think is that alcohol is more dangerous than pot. It would be tough to argue that if you really sit down and think about it.
Legalize it. It's no more dangerous that a cigarette (which has toxic chemicals), and no more impairing than alchohol. It's a stupid stigma that the Neo Cons use to control people. They do the same thing with non religious people and gays etc. etc. Fear that these people are bad and oh my Marijuana is bad too. The "War" on Drugs is pathetic and doesn't do any good.
