Well, my coach is a tar heel now. Don't be surprised to see them winning the ACC in the next few years. Butch is all about discipline and he can flat out recruit (Edge, Shockey, A. Johnson, E. Reed, etc.....).
FSU and Miami are in mourning today. Their programs are starting to slide, and this is not welcomed news. Throw in a good VTech program and you got a FSU and Miami team that will not sniff another NC title chance for quite a while.
He benefited from having Dinardo at LSU, no doubt -- for all those New Orleans players. He also benefited from just about everyone overlooking the undersized Shockey as well. Once he grew 6 inches and 50 pounds that senior year, everybody including Stoops was knocking on his door.
Let's see: Vtech Wake Forest Georgia Tech Boston College Maryland North Carolina then you got: Miami FSU pretty cool. North Carolina may be going bowling next season. That's how quick this guy could turn it around. They'll be competitive at the very least.
How hard can it be to get a 19 year old to buy into South Beach? We'll see how effective his recruiting really is now.
