Cammy's biopsey came back and they were able to rule out a whole lot of bad things. As far as the structure of her heart and lungs are concerned, they are fine. The only thing they have found is that her blood vessels going from the heart to the lungs are more narrow, riggid than normal going into the lungs. They have been treating this with Viagra, Nitric Oxide and a few other medicines. They are hoping that the blood vessels will be able to reconstruct themselves since she is a new born, either that or she could be on some of these medicines her whole life. Lori from the Cardiac Pulmonary team said that they could be watching her closely for years so it looks as of now that we are in this for the long haul. Cammy came off the ventilator on Wednesday afternoon and seems to be doing fine, just talked to her nurse and she thinks that she has her days and nights mixed up. Thank You all for your thoughts and prayers, please continue to keep us there. I will post a picture here sometime soon, just trying to get a good shot without so many wires and tubes. :thumb:
Good luck, Sourdough. Don't worry about the medicines. I have a cousin who had rheumatic fever as a child which damaged her heart. She has been on daily medication for 40 years now and has done fine with it.

SDMan, I always pictured you to be a bit older than you are. Tyler looks to be a chip off the old block. Nice Braves jacket BTW!!

On Tuesday morning Cammy had a stomach tube put in, going from the stomach out toward her belly, It is used to feed her directly because she has problems feeding by mouth right now. They also tied a knot in her stomach at the top to prevent acid reflux from happening. I probably didn't describe this part just right but its the best I can do. The picture without the tubes was done with photo shop because we always wondered what she would look like without the tubes. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, Cammy is doing well, when she does well our family does too! God bless :usaflagwa
SDM, Cammy is beautiful! She's looking really good. I think of her often, since my daughter, Skylar, was born about a month after Cammy.
