Be nice. Judging by his name, he's only 11.

Give the kid a break. He's new here and trying to contribute. Let's try not to run him off.

We lose Sheppard, so that's obviously going to hurt and I'm not sure LB is a position we're very deep at.

I've heard Kelvin Sheppard was taking Minter under his wing and grooming him for the position. I'd like to see them get a little more size in the offseason. Tackling has been suspect on the edges.

But if there's one area Chavis knows how to coach it's LB, so in the end I think we'll be fine there.

    Hatcher/Minter/Baker is my guess.

Why not? That sounds wonderful. If I wanted posts like this I'd visit that other forum that shall not be named.

Keep in mind also that Mingo is a bit of a tweener and could also see some time at OLB.

I have also heard good things about Minter. Kelvin Sheppard's physical abilities won't be that hard to replace, it's his mental abilities that will hard to replace. Alabama kind of went through the same thing this past season when they lost Rolondo McClain or however you spell his name.

To be honest this will be the weak part of our defense in my opinion, and I hope the young guys at linebacker are better at defending the read option, which is really the only thing we were terrible at defensively this season.

And that's a good point Herb, Mingo in my opinion should be moved back to OLB. As should Hatcher. Dude likes to blow people up, let him do so at the linebacker position.
