Can anyone remember rankings in 2001 used by ABC?

Everyone remembers when Nebraska played in the Rose Bowl in 2001 when they were ranked #4 in both polls. My question is this: Can anyone remember if ABC was billing the game as #1 vs. #2 or if they used the poll rankings?

The reason is that now they have this year's Rose Bowl as #1 vs. #4 and the Sugar Bowl as #2 vs. #3. If indeed in 2001 they used the BCS rankings for ads then it is just another example of ABC building up USC.

The past two years ABC has been using the BCS rankings to promote the BCS championship game.

This helps their ratings. I hope Michigan beats USC by a point.

LSU wins by 2 td's over OU and LSU is the clear #1.

Oregon spanked that ass. As good as Michigan is......they lost 2 games. We need a playoff!

ABC has been using the BCS rankings all year even in their regular broadcasts. They have been using that as THE rankings for ABC. It's funny if they are changing that now. They wanted the Big XII-Pac 10 matchup so they had two conferences they cover on a regular basis going for the title probably.

Actually, they've been using the BCS rankings during games this year, at least since the rankings came out.
