USC or NFL? Carroll rumors are rumbling

In the name of wishful thinking, there is this idea floating around that USC's Pete Carroll will become head coach of the San Antonio Saints next season. For one season only, in preparation of moving Tom Benson's New Orleans franchise to Southern California for the 2007 season.

I don't see why Caroll would go back to the NFL - he was terrible there. Although if he goes undefeated & wins the national championship this year, it might be a good time to get out of USC. Go out on top...

 

$$$ and as the article suggests if USC runs the table this year a NFL coaching position might be more attractive than staying at USC.

 

But Carroll wasn't worth a dam in the NFL... that money wouldn't last because he'd get fired!

 

If the Saints pay over $5 mil for Carroll, there will be absolutely NO doubt that Benson was screwing New Orleans & purposely keeping the team crappy simply because he could & fans would continue to go to the games.

 

I agree, although you know they would try to justify it...saying they can afford more because they think they'll be making more money.

I hope all Benson's teeth fall out except one so that he could still have a tooth ache.

Pete would be PERFECT, b/c once the Saints leave, they will be my least favorite team in the NFL... so there is no one better to hire than him

Any coach would be an improvement over the current staff. I had hopes for Haslett but he just can't get those rich ******* to perform.
