This is a fine example of really poor journalism. Which published reports could this "scandal" have an impact on? Were those reports peer reviewed? Do they relate to the IPCC study?

Seems this is a hatchet job and nothing more.

What this shows is what most rational people already know. Science is the language humans use to explain the world around them. Humans - the same ones who join political organizations and so readily fall into group think; the same ones who use the internet and ideologically driven TV "news" to filter all dissenting opinions out so that all they have to listen to is what they want to believe. Humans are tragically flawed. Science, particularly macro science like climate change (what happened to Global Warming? :hihi:), is tragically flawed. Because it relies on the opinions of humans.

Oh, but it's peer reviewed! Yeah - so is church doctrine. So are NCAA football rules.

There has never been a better example of "some people will believe anything".

"in one leaked e-mail, the research center's director, Phil Jones, writes to colleagues about graphs showing climate statistics over the last millennium. He alludes to a technique used by a fellow scientist to "hide the decline" in recent global temperatures. Some evidence appears to show a halt in a rise of global temperatures from about 1960, but is contradicted by other evidence which appears to show a rise in temperatures is continuing...

...which the author confirmed was genuine"

i think that indicates what i have been saying all along, that the issue is politicized in a such a way that certain results are desirable. and that ruins everything.

What?...Global warming is manmade, Bush planned 9/11, or that the Stimulus Bill is working?

All seem pretty equally ridiculous. :insane:
