Now that the coaching merry-go-round has begun and the salaries are changing. The following coaches will be making over 2million a year in the sec 1. Tommy tubberville- wingnut only had one good year out of 6 and he gets 2 million a year and a buy-out that is crazy. What can you expect from a school that does not have any class or tradition. 2. Phat Phil- I guess since he finally beat Mark Richt he deserve it and they were pre-season 3rd in the east. The only thing is they should have lost to FL and UGA. They got killed by the barners and they got beat by ND. 3. Urban Meyer- He deserves it, this guy is a winner. 4. LSU coach- well this is the greatest job in the sec. Other coaches that make 2 million and higher: Bob Stoops, Mack Brown - yet he has not won a bcs bowl or conference title Bobby Bowden What other coaches in the sec will be making 2 million by years end?
I'll probably get blasted for taking up for Auburn, but the truth is the truth. CTT didn't only have on good season... In 2000 they went 9-4 and in 2002 they also went 9-4 and to say Auburn doesn't have any tradition is to display your lack of college football history.
Im so sorry for talking bad about our biggest rival in the west. I think you may be on the wrong tiger board
I can see South Carolina giving Spurrier $2 million. Maybe not by next season, but perhaps sometime during his first 3 years there. In Tubby's defense, Auburn did try to toss him away last year, and they're probably feeling really guilty. Not only that, but I'm sure our search for a head coach, coupled with the fact that Tubby hasn't tried to pay Auburn back for trying to get rid of him, AND his record the past few seasons all played a part in getting him his money.
Yeah, I'll go ahead and call your BS too like I-of-the-Tygrr already did. You're probably some 16 year old kid that knows zero about college football other than the LSU tigers anyway. Tuberville, who just went undefeated in the SEC, isn't worth sh!t but Meyer, fresh out of the Mountain West conference from Utah, is a proven winner and WILL maintain his winning ways in the SEC? You're full of it kid... Good try though...
Had me as well until the Auburn deal, I am no Tubs fan, really could care less one way or the other about him. BUT Auburn has much tradition, and Tubs although did not put up Saban type numbers in Sabans 5 year stint (Multiple SEC titles and a National Title) Tubs and the Auburn faithful are being screwed and probably would get one this year if had it not been for the bogus system and are 12-0... No small feat... I am no Auburn fan, as I said I cheer for the SEC, but really I am an LSU fan who realizes other schools have fans just like us, I have a good time at tailgates with many of their fans. A school with no class is A&M, but they have tradition, a school with Class but no Tradition.. Baylor... People need to let the transgression of Tubby years ago go.... He has been nothing but class since those "Mistakes" and he and Saban are good friends. What has he done since the cigar and stomping incident to indicate he has no class. And as much as it pains me to say he was 3-2 against Saban, now Saban won the war as Tubs won 2 out of 3 battles. However in our series with Auburn since the resurrection the home team always seems to win. Anyway flame away, but to say Auburn has no tradition is a bit careless. Just one mans opinion
I don't think "talking bad" about us was his issue with your post. It was talking bad and inaccurately that drew fire. Trash talk doesn't sting much unless it has some basis in fact.
I could care less about the Chickens and some of their moron fans but I couldnt agree more. All this Tubby classless talk has created urban legend type "facts" about what Tubby does or doesnt do. He is accused of dozens of things that are simply not true nor proven anywhere. However, because of these couple incidents he gets the label when there isnt any real facts to back them up since then. Tubby seems to be running a pretty respectable program at this point with decent grad rates (even better than ours) and players that rarely get into trouble. You sure cant say the same thing about players at Tennessee and Arkansas. They have an element thats constantly in trouble with the law and could be poster children for the criminally inclined.
How much does Nutt make at Arkansas? It was rumored that he turned down $1.8 plus incentives to coach at Nebraska. Some roumors were he was offered $2M. Surely Arkansas had to up his salary for him to stay. Either that or Nutt is Nutts.
