LOL, friend and I had this discussion, his theory was, we have college football to avoid having another civil war. I have to say since the first CFG was played with Rutgers versus Princeton in 1869, this might have some merit, as the civil war ended just a few years prior. Anyway, love to see everyones opinions. :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
Almost as conceptual as the article I read last year where the author defined warring countries by whether they were beer, hard liquor, saki or wine drinkers. ... actually, he made some sense....
I agree here. My acceptance of the north is getting harder and harder every year teams like Ohio State make the championship game.
We talkin North of I-10 right? :thumb: This here is the DEEP south, where Yankees are to be found in Alexandria.
yeah that's pretty easy to put together since most wars come from cultural differences (at least in the people's minds). but all wars are for economical gain, no matter what are the said reasons. so... yeah it is easy to say college football helps avoid a civil war because it's played based on cultural differences (conferences are tied to regions for the most part) and it also helps all regions gain financially. yep, easy analogy.
