I just don't like the way CLM uses all those umm's and uhh's. Doesn't the media actually help the one being interviewed with an idea of what questions will be asked?

He better never listen to Bobby Hebert on 870. I could not stop counting the # of times he said "you know" yesterday. I think I got to 75 in about 15 minutes. Sometimes he follows and ends a word with "you know". And he gets paid to talk on the radio. I will cut CLM some slack.

"You know" is VERY commonly used in interviews by athletes. Now that you're aware of it, you will notice it more often. My wife always laughs at sports interviews because "you know" is said so often.

I'm sure it will drive me crazy from now on.

I had trouble with this right after my wedding. Looks like you have made the transition, or she has beaten it into your head. Me and my wife have made three years today.

Most just run away.....seriously. Channel 10 came to our school last year to do a piece on some "Upgrades"- our Parish is under a court order- and my Principal begged me to do the interview.

Since I don't go to the Principals' meetings and am not in charge of that part of the day-to-day arrangements/timelines, etc with the contractors, I wasn't even familiar with all the "Ins and outs" of the situation..........Need I even say that I bullchitted my way through and winged it??

I'm not so sure I agree. In today's media age, it seems any press is good press. As long as the talking heads are talking about LSU, we'll be up in the polls where we need to be to avoid being "Auburned" for the NCG.

Tiga, educators are famous for bullchitting our way through things--usually sounding quite polished. I attribute that to there being no tougher audience than a room full of adolescents. If a person can hold their attention, they can hold anyone's. So, TV? No problem.

And, no, Les isn't "polished," but he's a football coach. When did a football coach automatically have to be the best interviewee? Some are...others, not so much. I personally don't think Saban is that great, either. He always sounds bored. Coach Miles sounds fired up--I like that.
