Click here to read a very blunt analysis of our starting QB.

Exactly. I am a fan of JaMarcus but this is a coaching issue. They have coached him up against weaker opponents. I just made this comment in the "congratulations coach on beating Kentucky" thread.

    Enough said.

Wow... seems a little harsh, but watching him in game where we play pee-ons, he's electrifying, however, in games against quality, ranked opponents, he's mediocre.

The guy mentions Jason Campbell. Wasn't he a one year wonder?

I am a Miles supporter and an even bigger JR supporter......but I will say that I blame JR's performance in big games on the game plan. It seems we play "not to lose" in big games and they turn them lose in the cupcake games.

Very harsh one-sided article on JR.

For those of you saying right now, “what about Alabama, Auburn, and Florida a year ago”? LSU won those games in spite of Russell, not because of him.

Can he at least explain this a little, pretty broad IMO. He has a knack for fighting through adversity and he showed that in all those games with significant help from Addia.

I agree with you on JaMarcus. I'm not a supporter of Miles but think JaMarcus could be coached up. We seem to miss that point in the big games.

I agree with a lot of what this breakdown says.

Jamarcuss is a good QB .

He will never be a great QB .

There is just something that i call football smarts . Some people call it other things but it just doesnt come natural to JR .

You either have it or you dont but it is sort of a sixth scense.

Making the right decision at the right time and turning a mistake into game changing plays .

I equate it to QB's that are coach's sons . It is just an instinct to play smart football at the key time in a game.

Getting caught inbounds at the end of a game. Losing precious seconds instead of throwing the ball away. It is that small diference between winning and losing sometimes.

Do i blame JR for Auburn and Florida losses Hell No.

But the QB is the biggest decision maker on a football team and they are judged by the decisions they make. Good or bad it is the way life is.

    This article is dead on.

He is poorly coached, he has a head coach who is one of the worst game day managers, his OC develops one poor game plan after another in the biggest games of the year putting JR in a position more likely to fail than to succeed.

He doesn't have football instincts. Such talent, but no molding whatsoever since he's arrived on campus here at LSU.

i think the article is fine. its one-sided but that side needs to be told.

dont be down on jr. he has made significant improvement since 04. most of that improvement is shown in the thrashing of lesser opponents nowadays. the next step is to do it against the big boys. he still has plenty of time to do that (3, possibly 4 big games left this year, and more if he sticks around.
