Does anyone know all the names of players who left for the NBA, quit, flunked out or transferred under John Brady. I could come up with 15 names, but drew a blank on the other 20 or so. This is what I got so far: Ju Michale Young Rejis Kounja Jaimie Lloreada Ben Voogd Tim Bush Shawnson Johnson Tack Minor Ross Neltner Magnum Rolle Tony Gipson Kentrelle Gransberry Stromile Swift Brandon Bass Tyrus Thomas Glen Davis Anthony Randolf Who else was there? Why did they leave? Where did they go?
makes brady look pretty good. 5 of them got drafted so you cant really hold it against brady. without having any inside information, it seems that some left for PT----gransberry, neltner. not sure you can blame brady for that either. infact at the time it was probably the right decision. some left because they werent good enough--voogd and bush. this will happen with any program. you just dont want it to happen too much, but it is actually good when it happens to free up a scholly. some freaked out--minor, lloreda. again i dont know how you blame brady. after the injury, minor lost it. it was good he left. lloreda was the best recruit brady ever had, he just turned out to be a really selfish guy. if he wouldnt have gotten injured we never would have known it. the only ones that left because they hated brady were johnson, koundja and rolle (dont know about young). you cant look at the list and say these players left because brady was an ass or a bad coach. most of the defections were normal---several for $$$, some werent good enough, some wanted pt and some wigged out. all of those things happen. brady's faults were that he didnt manage the recruiting well. more pgs would have made the teams better and not resulted in several of the defections of post players due to over crowding. if someone wants to convince me otherwise there needs to be a comparison with several other programs at the same level over the same period of time.
