Congrats, Tigers! I hope those of you that made the trip...

...enjoyed yourself. Other than the final outcome of the game, I had a great time meeting many of you and partying with you guys. I'm sure many more of you will make the trip to Tempe in '08.

As for the game, I thought the ASU team played very well. We knew you guys would be able to run the ball on us, but I thought we were able to "contain" the amount of damage you did to us on the ground. Obviously, our offense played very well. In the end, an amazing throw by Russell was the biggest play of the game. It was a perfect pass for your last TD. Anywere else and I think our defender disrupts the play.

Once again, cograts and good luck the rest of the year. I'll be pulling for you.

We'd prefer not to throw that many times, but your front four did a good job controlling the LOS when we ran the ball. I doubt too many teams will be able to just line up and run it straight at you guys.

Get everything in BR straightened out and put a whoopin' on the Vols. Our game was a nice distraction for everyone in LA, but a home game at night in TS will be even better for y'all.

Hey Big E.... did you really think you needed a 50 yard FG attempt when you were up 17-7? Why not just pooch it on down there and make LSU go 80-90 yards?

Thought that was a poor decision... did you?

 

I know the question was not directed at me, but if you'll indulge me, a 50yd kick was not a problem for their kicker. He was kicking it through the uprights on kickoffs. He had some leg on him and then some.

Also, I think people are mistaken in thinking that their punter was trying for a fake punt in the 4th. They were wary of Skylar and trying a max protect punt but didnt execute too well. We've tried a few of those during the last couple of years.

 

I guess the question was do you need the points more than you need the field position.... both those plays were in the 4th qtr... 50 yarders are tough regardless of who's kicking them.

 

My preference would have been to go for it in that situation. I believe the ball was around the 35 yard line. It was 3rd and 2. I'm not a big fan of punting from there because there is a very good chance it ends up in a touchback and only nets 15 yards. However, I did like our chances on a 4th and 2 play there. If we don't convert, the Tigers still have to go 65 yards.
