I just wanted to tell the players and coaches good game. A whole lot better feeling than last week. Offense started to click and defense held tough after first broken assignment. Things to work on from here guys. 1.) Offensive consistency 2.) Cut out all the stupid penalties 3.) Make sure we get defensive coverages squared away. 4.) Make sure extra points worked on. 5.) Throw deep more to keep defenses honest. Good game though tigers and lets go get Vanderbilt next week. We needed our warm up games . Maybe we could have worked out a few kinks before we hit the meat part of the schedule.
Bingo Bro! We played well today! I never lost hope in this season, b/c I'm not a clown... but I do feel much better today... Mississippi State or not
we are... but it has nothing to do with wins and losses... it has to do with Katt's generosity and allowing us to put the show on his site
I think we played well but I still think at the beginning of the game our D was still giving up those short routes. But I agree with everything you said. After watching all the games today I still think we can go 10-1 despite our HC and DC mainly because we are just that much more talented then everybody else we play including UF. This all hinges on letting Jimbo call plays though.
actually i like the throws to bennie. He has speed and is catching well so why not get him the ball. He is the fastest on the team or very close. I was glad today to see it be jimbo's offense and not les's I form the whole damn game.
I don't mind those players getting touches. Bennie seems to have figured out how to catch the football. When you can come up with huge 3rd down conversion catches, even if you are an unproven player you are OK in my book. I like the FB dive for a TD to hester and several swing passes to him.
Bennie is a senior and is fast as greased lightning. He seems well past his stone hands days. I hope we see him a lot this year. He has hung in there for four years and deserves his chance. I thought the defensive line was dominating out there. The four-man rush was very effective today. Russells glittering 89-percent passing was good to see. He still follows his primary receiver too much and takes too many sacks by not getting rid of the ball quickly. I like seeing the fullback catch passes and carry the ball (for a TD!) For Nick, a fullback was just a quick guard who lined up in the backfield and blocked on every down. I think Jimbo opened up the offense because his quarterback was playing with more authority this game. Also State has been holding opponents rushing to under 100 yards. The defensive backs and linebackers are still blowing pass coverages. But it did look a lot better. There was pressure on the quarterback, which was good to see.
