IMO ---- He made a gutsy call on a nasty situation. "I" have no problem with the small amount of time it took to make his decision. After all, two young men's future was a stake here. He needed some time to get all the facts in and weigh his decision. This is not something that should be done hastily and I applaude his wisdom and courage. I, personally, would like to see RP make the trip, even if there are no plans to play him. I guess I am too lenient, but I would probably lift that suspenstion and allow him to play should MF get injured. Not if he had a bad game, but I don't think (if I were coaching) I would burn a red-shirt on one of the younger qbs if RP was going to be available the following weekend anyways. JMO.....Maybe I would give him extra sprints next week if he was forced to play. You tha man.....I'm the chicken chit. :geaux: :LSU231: :milesmic: :thumb:
has anyone mentioned the fact that not only did miles do the right thing but its the exact opposite of what urban meyer did with tony joiner? way to go, les. :miles: :thumb:
Yes and I think Miles handled it perfectly. He waited, held them out, and then went from there. And because he was held out he won't play. It wont be a big issue now and they can focus on the game.
i probably missed it amongst the bickering on the threads regarding "the incident", but is there any official statement on rp and do and what their status is by clm or the athletic dept?
I think the way he handeled the situation was perfect. I'm glad he is not letting RP travel and that he kicked Odom off the team. If this was RP's first brush with trouble then I think he brings him to the Bama game, but he is trying to send, once again, another message to RP that he is on a very short leash and needs to excercise better judgment. I commend Les for his actions, and even though RP was cleared of wrong doing he is sending a message. That message is loud and clear to the players and the public and shows much more integrity than Meyer who let a player start after being charged with a felony. Granted that felony was dropped but we all know the reason why.
Too bad other rival fans (and some non-rival) will not see it that way. The LSthugU talk is already in overdrive. Damage done, we will move on. I hope RP understands that his third "incident" is by no means a pardon and that this is probably his last chance give the sum of his "incidents". And I hope from this point on CLM makes him spend every waking moment glued to MF's hips so that some mature decision-making rubs off on him... Later, Fur
