Michigan IS going to the rose bowl. IOWA is B10 co-champion at 7-1 with them. Michigan gets the bowl by virtue of beating us on 9/25.

The defense is very good with no real weaknesses. A good bit of that is due to coaching. The D-line are all seniors. Matt Roth and Johathan Babiniaux are the stars. We have two very very tallented linebackers and the DB's are solid. That said, there were no (consistently) prolific offenses in the Big10 this year. Purdue, MSU, MI and MN all showed flashes but it was here and there. We're all very excited about Drew Tate, we just missed getting Chris Leak, and lo and behold DT shows up in Iowa City after the A&M coaching changes after 2002 season. We whipped knotts on OSU, MSU and Wisc with half our offense tied behind our back... so we are very pleased. Victories over Purdue and Minn were primarily due to excellent special teams, forcing turn overs and defense. Given a month or so for Simmons (our #4TB) to completely heal and for the O-line to drill and gel, we hope we'll be multi dimentional by game day. Simmons was a highly recruited Iowa native who went to Nebraska and then transfered back to Iowa..He's as good as anyone we have (had) at TB this year..just new to the program. Iowa fans don't know very much about LSU, just that they seem to be getting the best recruits during the last few years.... fill me in. Cheers!
