It's Time For Les Miles To Return The Favor- Listen, I'm not going to go into how badly LSU athletic director Joe Alleva botched this entire situation. CBSSports' Dennis Dodd
already took a torch to him this weekend, and at this point all I'd be doing is sweeping up the ashes he left behind.
Instead, I'll address what I think Les Miles should do now, after he was left twisting in the wind for weeks while Alleva crossed his fingers and hoped really hard that Jimbo Fisher would leave Florida State.
Les Miles loves LSU, and it's obvious that LSU fans love Les Miles, if the way that Tiger Stadium crowd treated him is any indication. But maybe it's still time for the two to part ways, but it should be Les initiating the breakup. Listen, there is a major job (there were two,
but USC filled its vacancy on Monday morning) available right now, the kind of jobs where you can win a national title.
If I'm Les Miles, my agent is calling Georgia this week, just to see. Maybe the Dawgs aren't interested, but maybe they are.
And wouldn't that be a way to stick it to Joe Alleva? Not only would Miles still find himself atop one of the top programs in the SEC, where he would have the potential to win a national title, but he'd also be in the "easier" part of the conference. Where he doesn't have to face Nick Saban on an annual basis, and we all know Miles' struggles against Saban lately are what has led to Alleva and some boosters looking to pull a trigger on Miles.
If you're Les, though, why stick around and possibly find yourself in the same position at this time next year? I think his fans in Baton Rouge would be upset, but I also think they'd understand.
Think about it, Les. It might be what's best for you at this point.
