I didn't want the guy to see the field this year but after seeing how green Russell is, IM glad we had him. Davis and Bowe had good solid years but were to close in my book to pick one over the other. I am disappointed w/the running game. AB and JA had decent years but not team MVP caliber. I don't think you can pick one individual player on Defense. The whole Defense had a really good year. So far they are #2 overall in the SEC. Overall if I look at the team and have to pick one guy as the clear-cut leader I would have to go w/Randall.
I'll maybe agree that Marcus Randall is the Offensive MVP but the MVP of the team is Marcus Spears. Spears is having a dominant season.
Spears should be MVP of this team. He is the only Senior on this team that has shown up every game. Will be a high draft choice.
I would go with Spears as well for MVP - he's provided that senior leadership, but as far as Davis & Bowe - Davis is definantly having a better year. Its been a break out year for both and more touchdowns from Bowe, but Bowe has had several dropped passes and seems to have made more mental mistakes. Also, Bowe's stats were drastically inflated by Russel because he would just wait for him to get open and not look for other receivers it seemed. Randall didn't throw it to Bowe near as much. Davis, on the other hand, has been one hell of a pleasant suprise and continues to impress me. Both should have great years next season.
Randall has been just as inconsistent as Russell this year. IMO it is a bit absurd to think of him as the MVP of this year. He has had a couple of games in which he could have been considered the MVP, but so has Russell. I think AB, JA, C.Davis or Bowe would have better claims for MVP. IMO, there is no clear cut MVP on offense.
i would probably say joseph addai would be the more clear MVP on offense, he's the only RB that has somewhat consistently ran the ball, he led us back on that game-winning drive @fla, but bowe and davis have been pretty good too, spears def should be team MVP for the reasons already stated by LSUDAN
Lets see, Spears 27 tackles 3 sacks 1 int. and 1 FF Kyle Williams 34 tackles 4 sacks 0 int. and 1 FF Kyle has better stats so he is my Defensive MVP. Had Randall not played in every game we would have way more then just two L's on the schedule. LSU's Defense wouldn't be #2 in the SEC if Russell started and played all year. So I think Randall has shown game mgmt. and overall has been the biggest leader on the team this year. As far as the RB's go, not enough production thus far. Not enough 100-yard games by one player if you ask me.
