I was just looking at the standings and suddenly had a thought. Is there anyway that LSU and USC could be together in a bowl game this year? I can't even begin to imagine the fanfare that would come out of that one.

No, the bowls just don't align. There are no tie-ins between PAC-10 and SEC teams in any of the bowl games.

The only way would be for USC to win the PAC-10 but not get into the NC game (i.e., beat Cal but lose to Oregon or ND) and LSU to be picked in the Rose Bowl as an at-large. That's a long shot. LSU would have to win out and not get to the SEC CG game for that to even have a chance and the SEC not be represented in the NC game as well. I don't see the Rose Bowl picking a 3 loss LSU team (SEC CG loser). If LSU wins the SEC CG then we're going to the Sugar.

So it won't happen, in other words.

Only in an NC game could it ever happen.
