Either a PR move or he's sincere. His game has gone south and he's having to rely on tournaments giving him sponsor exemptions to play. Got 2 exemptions this year and missed the cut in both. A hell of a career pissed, gambled, and alimony paid away.

He's quitting so he can devote more time to getting his buzz on! Going to try his hand at professional drinking.

In a startling turn of events, JD announced that his retirement announcement was no longer in effect. He will play in tournaments where he has sponsor exemptions. Might want to think about the Nationwide Tour JD. Or better yet, perhaps the Hooters tour.

Good riddance. He was an embarrassment to the profession of golf.

Apparently he is now backing off from his "retirement." Now he is sounding like he will just take a sabatical for a while - if that.

His sabbatical will be those tournaments that don't give him sponsors exemptions.

Daly's life might be a train wreck but when he was on his game he was fun to watch. "Just grip it and rip it" He is no more an embarassment to the "world of golf" than Tiger Woods.
