1. I like the fact that Dick Bumpas and John Chevis are being considered for the DC position at LSU. Either would be great hires. But what about Frank Spaziani, DC at Boston College? I wish I would see his name mentioned more. Everywhere he has been he has done a great job, and thanks to him BC consistently has one of the best defenses in the nation. Personally my two favorites are Bumpas and Spaziani.
  2. Re: DC Hire:Fank Spaziani

I hear Bumpas is not being looked at by LSU.
  3. Re: DC Hire:Fank Spaziani

Good suggestion with Spaz. BC's defense produces a lot of NFL players and always performs well considering it's academic standards and relatively weak recruiting area.
  4. Re: DC Hire:Fank Spaziani

I would have no problem with Spaziani.
  5. spaz is my uninformed choice. just from watching his defensive players consistently improve throughout the season year in and year out.

plus hes innovative with his approach. id like to see what he'd do in the sec.
  6. Spaz would probably be my first choice, as well. But it seems like a pipe dream, considering he's got a good thing going at a BCS school. Being in the ACC alone automatically gives you the inside track on making the BCS. So it seems unlikely that he'd make the move. It's hard to get anyone that is a truly proven commodity unless they're in a situation like Chavis this year or Tenuta last year. The young up-and-comers are typically eyeing the HC positions.
  7. Spaziani would be a fantastic choice, but alas timing is everything and I don't think that it will come to pass for that reason.

Plus, he sports a damn fine mustache.

  8. That is SO not a Southern moustache. He could leave that in the Northeast.
  9. yeah but when's the last time you've seen a DC and his players in a picture with all white dudes?
  10. Lol. I didn't even notice that.
