This kid is super talented and I think he will play on Sundays. We must get him the ball this year. He needs to open up the middle of the field for this offense. Let's hope and pray there are plenty of play calls that are either intended on getting him the ball or at the very least drawing away linebackers and safeties to open it up for our wideouts.
Super talented at separating from linebackers and catching the football, but soft as a roll of Charmin when it comes to blocking and getting the tough YAC.
The team needs him to put out and lower a shoulder every now and then. As stated above, S.O.F.T. THAT'S why he doesn't see much action. See Mike Ford and Keiland Williams for examples of how playing soft and avoiding contact finds you on the sideline more than on the field. Fire away... I knew if I said it, I'd better back it up with proof. There's a lot more proof out there than that, too. He either fell...yes, fell...or ran out of bounds inside the 5 yd line 3 times last season. He absolutely avoids all contact. In all my searching, I cannot find a time where he scored a TD without already being in the end zone before he caught the ball. He refuses to lower the shoulder and use his superior frame against a light in the arse DB. Soft.
The reverse on 4th vs. Alabama. He should have scored, he ran out of bounds with a spin move and even stayed on his feet. I agree with you.
That video is an embarrassment on a lot of levels. Not only because of D-Pete's refusal to catch the ball and his subsequent unsportsmanlike conduct, but also because the lol mrs player that he hit got up and began high-fiving his teammates, as if he had done anything at all. That really typifies lol mrs in general. Success comes so infrequently that even the minor mistakes of your foes become worth celebrating.
This is D-Petes money year. He will be given a chance, but the staff will not wait on him. He has to make the plays, too many kids waiting to take his place.
