Death Valley used to be a place where other teams hated to go b/c LSU was so hard to beat there. Whats the deal?
Night Time Kickoff + Fans= Death Valley. LSU has had no night games this year thats the excuse I just came up with.
So you blame the three losses, two of which were blowouts, in the most recent homestand on the fans??? Suffice to say people deal with losing in different ways, however I think the question asked on this thread is very valid.:geaux:
I was at 2 of the 3 losses (UGA and Bama) at home. sarcasm doesn't come across the screen real well. The atmosphere at Death Valley makes it special. It levels the playing field a bit, or tilts it in our favor. However, it doesn't magically transform a crap defense into the 2000 Baltimore Ravens, nor does it morph Jarrett Lee into John Elway.
No, he's blaming the alleged loss of Death Valley's "luster" on the fans. The stadium is just a thing. When it's filled with screaming fans it becomes alive. When the fans leave or sit on their hands it dies again. It's not the team that opponents fear. It's the noise and the energy. Look in the mirror to find the answer.
Not so fast my friend. I can only judge by what I see no the TV screen, but I think there is some validity to the statement. You won't see the Tigers featured on CBS near as much next year, thus more night games in Death Valley. That and some changes on the coaching staff should restore some of the luster.
Its obvious that the fans feed off of the teams energy. Whats that say about this teams energy? Ain't it obvious? No way the crowd could ever make up for these shortcomings...
