Don't know if this has been posted before but I just saw it - http://www.derronparquetfightforlifefund.com/index.htm. I know he had a bit of a rocky career but he is still a former Tiger. Hate to hear things like this.
WOW, that's so close to home for me. How what protects one man can hurt another. In speaking to the Dr. about my father last week, he was explaining to me how the brain has a "Barrier" that prevents common colds, etc. from attacking it......for that reason, it is standard practice for chemotherapy to be accompanied by radiation to the brain as preventive measures for possible spreading. Ironically, it's the radiation (As well as the treatment) that's causing the problems we are currently dealing with from the last two years in a battle we're losing with his cancer. I can identify with the pain the family must feel and offer prayers that God gives them strength to manage.
Cancer sucks. I currently have four people on my prayer list including two of my neighbors. I can at least thank God that I have been able to take two people off of my list, not because they died, but b/c they were healed. Cancer sucks.
He has really suffered some hard knocks. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery. but it sounds like a speedy recovery may be a little optimistic.
Looks like this is old news (not that its any the less tragic). Story form New Orleans Clarion Herald May last year. Hope this works. http://www.catholic.org/clarionherald/issue/20060513/11.pdf
