Just wondering, because it seems that all 15 are on the roster....don't know if that means anything....
its a rare thing to have all your recruits qualify. I wasn't sure if i missed anybody. Thats pretty awesome.
You're right about that. We've done really well in that regard the pst few years, with only those above the 25 limit having to greyshirt as they were partial qualifiers and Saban knew well in advance who they would be. Except for Daryl Johnson, who never hit the books hard enough after signing.
Did having them all in summer school help them qualify? What exactly does allowing them to enroll in summer school do?
What it does is allow them to take a couple of classes, so they can get used to the 'college way' of doing things, plus, if they take two classes (6 hours), then that's one class less that they have to take each semester (fall and spring). And it gets them onto the practice field and into the weight room with the upperclassmen.
Yep, and it also gets them in Baton Rouge, on campus with any coast to them. and under the watchful eye and regimen of our wonder boy, Tommy Moffitt. The skill players get to do the 7 on 7 and other skeleton drills. The others get to practice with an learn from players at their position. They work on building relationships and forming team unity. They want walk on the filed the first day of fall practice wondering who everyone is and what they should be doing. Hard to believe why anyone would question why they would report to summer school.
Requirements (ACT score/ GPA) for entering freshmen this fall have been raised. Enrolling in summer session allows students to meet last years requirements.
