Did Bates just become a serious candidate?

Or is this thing already over? Everyone is saying that Saban doesn't have an official offer although he does seem to be the man the fins are after.

 

They were talking on MNF like he was. Shrug. Beating the Patriots tonight sure didn't hurt his chances.

 

Bates sure did look like the futrue head coach to me. The players obviously love him. He's a lock for the job. He's also a friend of Saban. Saban will be happy and proud when Bates accepts the job.

That's my story and I'm sitcking to it!

 

I think he is and that was why i was rooting for the Dolphins. From some of the shots at the end of the game I think the players would like him to get it. That should prove to his advantage.

 

The last time I remember a team hiring the "players choice" was LSU when we hired Mike Archer...

Someone refresh me on how he ended up?

 

Personally I don't care how it ends up for them; as long as it ends up in our favor.:thumb:

Unfortunately, Bates won't get consideration. They're sold on Saban.

 

True, but Saban being sold on them is yet to be determined.

 

I wish they'd go with Bates, but they're not. Too much media poison in Miami - they are demanding a clean house, without regard to the incredible fiasco of injuries and defections we've had this past year. But you can't argue with illogical rage.
