No, clearly not. It should have been LSU and Florida. Clearly the 2 best teams in college football. I say we start doing tests like they do in the NFL combines. And if there is too much a differential, then the team who looks to be much less athletic and slow (eg, OSU) has to bow out of the championship game and the next team in line gets a chance.
Put it this way, OSU deserved to be playing in the national championship about as much as Notre Dame deserved to ranked in the top 25. Most lopsided game was probably LSU over ND 41-14. 580 yards that could have been 830. We had to call off the dogs early in the 4th quarter.
Ohio State and Notre Dame should have played each other in the Cotton Bowl. I doubt either team would lose 41-14 like they both actually wound up losing by.
